Coralee was inspired by Gwen Ramey and by Susan’s love for the beautiful colorful coral in Hawaii. Susan believes that coral is the flower garden of the ocean. Stretching for more than 1200 miles, Hawaiian coral reefs account for about 85 percent of all coral reefs in the United States.
Fish Like Me was named and inspired by Presley Grant, a little Kauaiian surfer and cliff jumper, soon to enter kindergarten not far from the Poipu area.
Fishful Thinking was Susan’s second mermaid. Head down, reflective of the human prints in the sand.
Entwined to Float was painted at the urging of Andrea Papa-Dakis King, owner of Moonbow Magic in Hanapepe, Kauai.
Keiki Kai (child and ocean) shows a mother mermaid holding her merchild. They are sisters of the sea and enjoy the freedom of mermaid life swimming with the dolphins, whales, turtles and all of the other life in and of the sea.
